details: Integration of newspaper conntent with LA.com was task number one. Using XML feeds from 11 individual newspaper publishing systems, processes were put into place to put published content online. Task 2 was to integrate 3rd party vendor verticle or content providers onto the site.
strategy: Newspapers and websites are two very different entities and there is very little overlap. The overall strategy is to put into place processes that non-technical writers and publishers could use to publish their content online. Secondly, integration of 3rd party vendors was to be done seemlessly so as to not affect the user experience.
